Basketball Recap: Westfield School Comes Up Short

Westfield School lost against Stratford Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Westfield School Hornets took a 71-55 bruising from the Stratford Academy Eagles. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 14-10 in the first quarter.

Frankie Raines Jr was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 12 boards for Stratford Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Raines Jr has scored at least a third of Stratford Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Stephens, who posted 16 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Westfield School and nudges their season record down to 5-6. As for Stratford Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Westfield School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 53-48 defeat against Brookstone on the 7th. Stratford Academy has also already played their next game, a 62-52 win against George Walton Academy on the 4th.
