Softball Recap: West Broward Wins Going Away Against Cypress Bay

While West Broward put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Cypress Bay. The West Broward Bobcats were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over the Cypress Bay Lightning. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 8-5 victory the Lightning walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The result came thanks to Cheyanne Chaffin's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Natalia Solorzano was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Victoria Carmona, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for West Broward and bumps their season record up to 7-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.5 runs. As for Cypress Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

West Broward will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Everglades at 5:15 p.m. on April 1st. Cypress Bay also won't see the field for a while: their next game is against Coral Springs Charter at 6:00 p.m. on April 1st.
