Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Philip Simmons). They put the hurt on the Timberland Wolves with a sharp 20-2 victory on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Iron Horses considering their two-run performance the match before.

Kyle Bachmann was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nolan Clifford, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Philip Simmons always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Philip Simmons is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Timberland, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Philip Simmons has already played their next contest, a 7-5 defeat against Atlantic Shores Christian on the 14th. As for Timberland, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Woodland at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
