Basketball Game Preview: Reagan Raiders vs. Mount Tabor Spartans

Reagan is 2-8 against Mount Tabor since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Both will face off at 8:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Reagan will head into Wednesday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Parkland on Wednesday. Reagan simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Parkland 66-30. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Mustangs are ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mount Tabor was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past Glenn 88-45. That 43 point margin sets a new team best for the Spartans this season.

Reagan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Mount Tabor, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Reagan might still be hurting after the 58-37 loss they got from Mount Tabor in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Reagan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
