Basketball Recap: Mason Steuber's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jenkintown over Collegium Charter

After flying high against Upper Bucks Christian last Thursday, Jenkintown came back down to earth. The Jenkintown Drakes lost to the Collegium Charter Cougar at home by a 72-58 margin on Friday. The Drakes' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jenkintown's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Steuber, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Steuber has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Jackson, who posted 15 points.

Jenkintown's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Collegium Charter, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-15.

Jenkintown will venture away from home to challenge Renaissance Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collegium Charter, they will host Plumstead Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Collegium Charter is facing Plumstead Christian at the right time seeing as Plumstead Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
