Football Recap: Montclair Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Montclair fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Walnut on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. If the Cavaliers were looking for revenge after losing 14-8 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Damien Pacheco threw for 89 yards and one touchdown. Dominic Chittham was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Abraham Gil rushed for 42 yards.

Leading Walnut to victory were Nohlen Simons and Christopher Mardueno. Simons rushed for 40 yards and one score, while Mardueno rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown.

Montclair's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Walnut, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Montclair didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-6 win against Glendale on the 4th. As for Walnut, they have also already played their next game, a 37-12 victory against Sonora on the 5th.
