Soccer Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Westlake lost against Lone Peak on April 9th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Thunder fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Westlake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Lone Peak are ranked first).

Westlake's goal came courtesy of Reiker Swenson, who's now up to four this season.

Westlake dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Lone Peak, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Westlake didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-1 defeat against Skyridge on the 30th. As for Lone Peak, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against American Fork on the 30th.
