Dakota came out on top against Richmond on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Blue Devils 6-5. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Ella Goike was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Chloe Dunn was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Dakota's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Richmond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dakota will venture away from home to challenge Utica Ford at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Richmond, they will head out to take on Regina at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
