Baseball Recap: Morgan Township Comes Up Short

Morgan Township extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-19-1 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Highland Trojans. The Cherokees were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Cal Lemmons was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-13 record this season. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

On Highland's side, Cash Washick was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Washick a new career-high.

Coincidentally, Morgan Township and Highland will both be playing Kouts the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Mustangs & Fillies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cherokees will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
