Football Recap: Alleghany Trojans vs. Mitchell Mountaineers
Alleghany lost against Mitchell back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Alleghany Trojans fell 21-14 to the Mitchell Mountaineers.
Kaj Pittman was nothing short of spectacular for Mitchell: he rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards.
Alleghany now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Mitchell, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alleghany will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Starmount at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th. As for Mitchell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Andrews at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
