Softball Preview: Coahoma Bulldogs vs. Colorado Wolves
The Coahoma Bulldogs and the Colorado Wolves will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Coahoma is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Coahoma is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Stanton 25-1 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 15 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mia Clemmer and Bree Lewis did most of the damage at the plate: Clemmer fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-3, while Lewis fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those four runs gave Clemmer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaedyn Lee, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Coahoma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stanton only posted an OBP of .083.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Colorado's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hermleigh on Tuesday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.
Coahoma pushed their record up to 20-0 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Colorado, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7-1.
Everything went Coahoma's way against Colorado in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, as Coahoma made off with a 9-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
