Basketball Recap: Clarion-Limestone Starts off Right with Win over Moniteau

Clarion-Limestone gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They snuck past the Moniteau Warriors with a 57-52 victory. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 67-65 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Clarion-Limestone found their leader in sophomore Paul Craig, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 32 points. The dominant performance gave Craig a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Runyan, who went 6 of 15 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Moniteau dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Clarion-Limestone Lions face off against the Clarion Area Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Moniteau, they will host Keystone at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
