Baseball Recap: Woodstock North Takes a Loss

Woodstock North lost against Johnsburg last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Thunder fell just short of the Skyhawks by a score of 4-3. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Woodstock North got a good showing from Ryan Lalor, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lalor has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Braeden Berner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Woodstock North is 2-1 when Berner posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

Woodstock North now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Johnsburg, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodstock North will host Sycamore at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Johnsburg, they will be playing at home against Grant Community at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Skyhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
