Baseball Game Preview: West Bladen Knights vs. Red Springs Red Devils

For the second straight game, West Bladen will face off against Red Springs. The Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Bladen has seven straight victories, Red Springs has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

West Bladen barely beat Red Springs the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Red Devils a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday.

West Bladen got a big performance out of JT Hepler, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Hepler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cade Allen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

West Bladen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in three consecutive contests.

West Bladen pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Red Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
