Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Vikings vs. Tecumseh Indians

Jackson is 2-8 against Tecumseh since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jackson Vikings will face off against the Tecumseh Indians at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Jackson is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since December 9, 2024 on Friday. They put the hurt on Ypsilanti with a sharp 51-29 win.

Meanwhile, Tecumseh entered their tilt with Pinckney on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Pirates 52-21. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Pirates are ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tecumseh pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.7 points over those games. As for Jackson, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.

Jackson was dealt a bruising 79-21 defeat at the hands of Tecumseh in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Jackson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
