There's no place like home for Parkersburg South, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed past the John Marshall Monarchs to the tune of 41-14 on Friday. With the Patriots ahead 27-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkersburg South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kinzyn Lutchmansingh, who threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Lutchmansingh a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Channing Barrett, who picked up 117 receiving yards and one score.

Parkersburg South's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for John Marshall, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkersburg South will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for John Marshall, they will square off against Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Monarchs will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
