Football Recap: DuBois Takes a Loss

If DuBois was riding high fresh off their 45-0 takedown of Brookville last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between the Beavers and Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion] didn't end well, with the Beavers falling 35-19. The Beavers have struggled against Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion] recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Although DuBois took the loss, they still got scores from Samson Deeb and Thacher Hanzely.

Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion]'s win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Rex, who picked up 80 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 118 yards. Rex has become a key player for Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion]: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise. Mason Burford did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 100 receiving yards.

DuBois' loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion], the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Coming up, DuBois will challenge Hollidaysburg at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Beavers will need to watch out since the Golden Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. As for Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion], they will square off against Butler at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
