Baseball Game Preview: Apex Friendship Patriots vs. Green Level Gators

The Apex Friendship Patriots will face off against the Green Level Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Apex Friendship will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Apex Friendship had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Cary on Thursday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Imps with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Patriots have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ajay Rychcik and Hayden Fones did most of the damage at the plate: Rychcik went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Fones went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Fones has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Connor Sousa, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Apex Friendship always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cary only posted an OBP of .273.

Meanwhile, Green Level lost 15-5 to Southern Lee on Monday.

Apex Friendship pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Green Level, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Everything went Apex Friendship's way against Green Level in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Apex Friendship made off with an 8-2 victory. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
