Softball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert entered their match against Winterset on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tigers fell 5-2 to the Huskies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 13-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Gilbert and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Winterset, they now also have a winning record of 6-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gilbert beat the Huskies by a score of 2-1 later that day.
