Ovid-Elsie will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Montrose extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Rams took their game with ease, bagging a 43-14 victory over Lakeville. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Falcons are ranked 366th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ovid-Elsie narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Durand 31-28. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Railroaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Montrose's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Ovid-Elsie, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Montrose was taken down by Ovid-Elsie 42-7 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rams were down 21-0.
