Basketball Game Preview: Bellevue Comets vs. Anamosa Raiders

The Bellevue Comets will head out to challenge the Anamosa Raiders at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellevue will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Bellevue made easy work of Camanche and carried off a 78-57 victory. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Anamosa came up short against Monticello on Friday and fell 60-52. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Panthers are ranked 113th).

Bellevue is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Anamosa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Bellevue was able to grind out a solid win over Anamosa in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 61-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bellevue since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
