Basketball Game Preview: Unity Eagles vs. Clayton Bears

The Unity Eagles will take on the Clayton Bears in a holiday battle at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Unity is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Unity was beaten by Cameron 74-39. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Comets are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, Clayton had to kick off their season on the road back in November, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Elmwood/Plum City as they made off with a 43-21 win.

Unity's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Clayton, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Unity couldn't quite get it done against Clayton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 as they fell 39-30. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
