Baseball Game Preview: Country Christian Cougars vs. Salem Academy Crusaders

For the second straight game, Country Christian will face off against Salem Academy. The Cougars will take on the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Country Christian will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Country Christian will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Salem Academy on Wednesday. The Cougars walked away with a 14-9 win over the Crusaders.

Andrew Lee was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Smith, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Country Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Salem Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
