Preview: Crespi Celts vs. Oakwood Owls

Crespi has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Oakwood Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crespi knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Oakwood likes a good challenge.

Crespi has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 24 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Beverly Hills 80-50 at home. Given Crespi's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Beverly Hills is ranked 411th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Joe Sterling, who scored 33 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The match was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton White, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Oakwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 104-44 loss at the hands of Notre Dame (SO). The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oakwood has scored all season.

Crespi pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Oakwood, they have fallen quite a ways from their 22-10 record last season and are now at 2-9.

Everything went Crespi's way against Oakwood when the teams last played back in November as Crespi made off with a 69-45 victory. With Crespi ahead 33-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
