Baseball Game Preview: Glasgow Scotties vs. Bowling Green Purples

Glasgow is 1-9 against Bowling Green since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Scotties will be playing at home against the Purples at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Glasgow is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They lost 9-3 to South Warren. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 25, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Josiah Driver made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. Glasgow is 2-1 when Driver posts three or more hits, but 3-9-1 otherwise. Hudson Gumm was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bowling Green fell victim to Grace Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Purples have suffered since May 16, 2024.

Bowling Green saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Idlett, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Bowling Green and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Glasgow, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-1.
