Football Recap: Palmer Trinity Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Palmer Trinity and True North Classical Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Palmer Trinity had to settle for second. They came up short against the Titans, falling 42-17. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-3.

Rafael Salvatierra and Manny Coya certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Salvatierra picked up 116 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Coya threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns.

Leading True North Classical Academy to victory were Cecil Smith and Zachary Katz. Smith rushed for 126 yards and one score, while Katz rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown. Smith got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 90 yards.

Palmer Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for True North Classical Academy, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Palmer Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for True North Classical Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Saint Andrew's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans will need to watch out since the Scots have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
