Basketball Game Preview: Claremont Wolfpack vs. Oakwood Owls

The Claremont Wolfpack and the Oakwood Owls will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Claremont is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Victor Valley, posting a 69-34 victory. With that win, the Wolfpack brought their scoring average up to 53 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Claremont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nolan Zitar, who shot 45% from the field en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Cardenas, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Claremont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Oakwood was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Whitney 77-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Owls.

The victory got Claremont back to even at 2-2. As for Oakwood, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.
