Basketball Recap: Trevor Hiscocks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Simi Valley over Camarillo

If Simi Valley was riding high fresh off their 82-61 takedown of Moorpark last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Simi Valley Pioneers took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Camarillo Scorpions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Scorpions are ranked 34th).

Simi Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Trevor Hiscocks, who posted five points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Caden Temme, who had nine points.

Simi Valley dropped their record down to 9-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Camarillo, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Oak Park the next time they take the court. Simi Valley will host Oak Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Camarillo will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
