Baseball Recap: Carlin Railroaders vs. Wells Leopards
Carlin extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 36 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-17 in the process. They came up short against the Wells Leopards, falling 20-2. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Leopards this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-1 loss on Tuesday.
As for Wells, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 19-3. Considering they have won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Wells' part, Gage Uhlig was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Tristen Zimmerman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlin will welcome Virginia City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wells, they will be playing at home against Pyramid Lake at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
