Softball Recap: East Aurora Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

East Aurora had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Allegany-Limestone Gators by a score of 9-8. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Sage Rozanski was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Rozanski was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Tessa Fowler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Emily Seifert was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

Looking ahead, East Aurora will head out on the road to challenge Mount St. Mary Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Allegany-Limestone, they will host Bolivar-Richburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
