Soccer Recap: Mt. Vernon Comes Up Short on the Road Against Freeburg + How To Watch

Mt. Vernon had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 8-2 to the Freeburg Midgets on Monday. Mt. Vernon were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 6-0.

Keaton Koch and Brodie Phillips scored both of Mt. Vernon's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Coincidentally, Mt. Vernon and Freeburg will both be playing Carbondale the next time they take the pitch. The Midgets will head out to face the Terriers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rams will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on September 2.
