Recap: Eastside Blazers vs. Lakeland Lakers
The Eastside Blazers struggled with threes on Friday (the Lakeland Lakers had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Eastside was dealt a 72-38 defeat at the hands of Lakeland. Eastside has struggled against Lakeland recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Eastside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clayton Minnick, who scored ten points along with six assists. Minnick scored a full 26.3% of Eastside's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Connor Abplanalp, who scored five points.
Lakeland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nate Keil, who scored 16 points. The match was Keil's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kyle Hartsough was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lakeland, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastside will square off against Edon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeland, they will head out on the road to face off against Westview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westview will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
