Preview: North Eugene Highlanders vs. South Medford Panthers
Having just played yesterday, the North Eugene Highlanders will head out on the road to face off against the South Medford Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on December 28th. North Eugene will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, North Eugene's game was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Putnam with a 51-46 victory.
India Mohiuddin was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Elias McKinnis was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Medford scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 73-57 victory over Benson Tech. The win was just what South Medford needed coming off of a 78-45 defeat in their prior contest.
North Eugene's record now sits at 9-1. As for South Medford, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
North Eugene came up short against South Medford in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 54-43. Can North Eugene avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
