Baseball Recap: Wakefield Takes a Loss

After flying high against George C. Marshall last Tuesday, Wakefield came back down to earth. Wakefield lost 13-1 to the Herndon Hornets on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Wakefield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Bull, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Herndon, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Wakefield will challenge James Madison at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. James Madison's pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so Wakefield's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Herndon, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-1 win against Wakefield School on the 28th.
