Softball Recap: London Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

London got themselves on the board against Urbana on Monday, but Urbana never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Hillclimbers. The victory continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Hillclimbers: they've now won six in a row.

Gwyn Wieber was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Spencer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

London always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Urbana only posted an OBP of .263.

London's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Urbana, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

London will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hillclimbers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
