Basketball Game Preview: Anthony Wildcats vs. Pecos Eagles

The Anthony Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Pecos Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Anthony saw some tournament action last Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Santa Teresa an easy 79-53 victory. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1296th in Texas, while the Desert Warriors are ranked 113th in New Mexico).

Meanwhile, Pecos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 71-21 loss at the hands of Presidio.

Pecos' defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Anthony, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
