Baseball Game Preview: Aurora East Tomcats vs. Elmwood Park Tigers

The Aurora East Tomcats will venture away from home to take on the Elmwood Park Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Aurora East comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Aurora East and Streamwood had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tomcats took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sabres on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Elmwood Park sidestepped Elgin for a 3-1 victory.

Elmwood Park's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mathew Sutherland, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Sutherland has posted since back in May of 2024.

Aurora East's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Elmwood Park, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.
