Baseball Recap: Brookfield Takes a Loss

Brookfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Garfield G-Men. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 8-4 to the G-Men when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Devin Reardon made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Hook, who went 1-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Brookfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Garfield, they moved to 5-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Brookfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
