Basketball Recap: Living Word Lutheran Wins Going Away Against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy

Living Word Lutheran won the last time they faced St. John's Northwestern Military Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves put the hurt on the St. John's Northwestern Military Academy Lancers with a sharp 80-59 victory. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Easton Oliver was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 13 on his way to 26 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Evans, who posted 17 points and eight rebounds.

Living Word Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, St. John's Northwestern Military Academy had strong showings from Mamadou N'Diaye, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards, and Wesley Chapman, who went 11 of 24 on his way to 27 points and six rebounds. N'Diaye is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of James Visocky, who had seven points.

Living Word Lutheran's record is now 5-1. As for St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Living Word Lutheran and Milwaukee Reagan will round out the year against one another at at 9:15 a.m. on Friday. As for St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kenosha Christian Life at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
