Hattiesburg is a perfect 3-0 against Perry Central since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tigers will head out to take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hattiesburg was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out West Marion 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 9, 2024.

Hattiesburg got a great performance from JB Bryant as he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Bryant a new career-high.
At the plate, Jacob Polk was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Perry Central got the win against Tylertown on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-6. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Austin Jones, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Perry Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 4-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jace Hill, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Perry Central lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Hattiesburg is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Perry Central, their record is now 7-11.
Hattiesburg skirted past Perry Central 10-8 when the teams last played back in April of 2018. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
