Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northbridge). Their defense stepped up to hand University Park an 8-0 shutout on Wednesday. Given Northbridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 67th, while University Park are ranked 290th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Northbridge and bumps their season record up to 6-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those two matchups. As for University Park, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northbridge will take on Whitinsville Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for University Park, they will challenge Uxbridge at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
