Basketball Recap: Emmanuel Christian Takes a Loss

Emmanuel Christian lost against Varsity Opponent two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Emmanuel Christian Crusaders were outmatched by Varsity Opponent and fell 45-11. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-4.

Emmanuel Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Oliver, who posted four points in addition to five boards and three steals. Oliver is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Aubrey Hoffman was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Emmanuel Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Emmanuel Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Emmanuel Christian has already played their next game, a 33-17 defeat against Calvary Christian on the 28th. As for Varsity Opponent, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-24 victory against Victory Road Christian Academy on the 27th.
