Basketball Recap: Crete-Monee Takes a Loss

Crete-Monee lost against Rich Township back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Crete-Monee Warriors received a blow as they fell 56-38 to the Rich Township Raptors. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Raptors are ranked 16th).

It was another big night for Al Brooks, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds for Rich Township. Brooks is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kavon Ammons, who posted ten points.

Crete-Monee's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Rich Township, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7.

Coming up, Crete-Monee will face off against Thornwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rich Township, they have already played their next game, a 71-61 loss against Bloom on the 18th.
