Baseball Recap: Clearwater Valley Wins Going Away Against Genesee

Clearwater Valley's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Genesee Bulldogs as they made off with a 13-0 win. Considering the Rams have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Jake Fabbi made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Clearwater Valley is undefeated when Fabbi posts two or more runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Josh Gardner was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carson Schilling, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Clearwater Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Clearwater Valley's record now sits at 11-9. As for Genesee, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clearwater Valley beat the Bulldogs by a score of 19-1 later that day.
