Basketball Recap: Northside Takes a Loss

Northside lost against Starr's Mill back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Northside Patriots took a hard 48-29 fall against the Starr's Mill Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Panthers are ranked 99th).

Starr's Mill was led to victory by Lindsey Kopacek and Sophia Olson. Kopacek dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards, while Olson posted seven points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds. Kopacek is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games she's played. Gabriella Roach was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Northside has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Starr's Mill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Northside nor Starr's Mill have any future games scheduled.
