Basketball Recap: DuVal Comes Up Short

DuVal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Flowers Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Jaguars are ranked 20th).

Flowers was led to victory by Tyrell Bowles and Brandon Brooks. Bowles dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 boards, while Brooks posted 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Bowles is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last ten games he's played. Joshua Nsiah was another key player, putting up ten points.

DuVal's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Flowers, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

As of now, neither DuVal nor Flowers have any future games scheduled.
