Football Game Preview: Lennard Longhorns vs. Bloomingdale Bulls

The Lennard Longhorns will take on the Bloomingdale Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lennard is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Sumner 30-0. The win continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Stingrays: they've now won seven in a row.

Sydney Elizondo had another great game (as she tends to do), throwing for 254 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.7% of her passes. She is becoming a predictor of Lennard's success: when she posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when she doesn't). 81 of Elizondo's passing yards were hauled in by Kyah Vance, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, Bloomingdale hadn't done well against Newsome recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulls blew past the Wolves 25-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulls.

Bloomingdale's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Lennard, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.

Lennard took their victory against Bloomingdale in their previous meeting last Monday by a conclusive 30-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
