Recap: Salisbury Township Falcons vs. Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils
The Salisbury Township Falcons''s 20-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 24-17 victory over Shenandoah Valley. The win was just what Salisbury Township needed coming off of a 35-14 defeat in their prior contest.
Salisbury Township can attribute much of their success to Jason St Leger, who rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. St Leger was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of George Spann, who rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Shenandoah Valley still got an impressive performance from Ben Dempster, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
Salisbury Township's win bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Shenandoah Valley, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 2-9.
Salisbury Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Shenandoah Valley also has no future games currently scheduled.
