Softball Recap: Laurel Golden Tornadoes vs. Vancleave Bulldogs

Laurel had lost nine straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-15 to make it ten. They lost 17-0 to the Vancleave Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-3 back in March.

As for Vancleave, their win bumped their record up to 11-16. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

For Vancleave's part, Carly Wyatt made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Wyatt has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
