Baseball Recap: Centennial's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Centennial came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Alamogordo Tigers as they made off with a 15-1 win. Considering the Hawks have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Centennial got a great performance from Aidan Renteria as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Renteria has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isreal Molina, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Alons, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Centennial hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alamogordo struck out eight times.

Centennial's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Alamogordo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Centennial beat the Tigers by a score of 4-3 later that day.
